KNOCKIN' ON PLAYER'S DOOR

Hello everybody!

This is the first number of “Campo di Marte" English version (Field of Mars).

As "Campo di Marte" was the  barracks’ square used by the Roman soldiers for military training, so CdM wants to be a space online devoted to the "diplomatic-military game" (... game!).

CdM already entertains different games in Italian language but the opening of an English language section represents a "risk", since the characteristics of the carrying out of the games are slightly different from those usually used.

Here are the main characteristics (that Italian players like a lot):

- fortnightly fixed deadline (on the 15th and on the 30st of every month – in August and  on December the 31st there is no game)

- three season/turns for every year of game (Spring - Fall - Winter)

- Retreats/disbands and possible builds/disbands are send AFTER the adjudicate.

- the diplomatic phase happens through e-mail;

- the game ‘s update is published on the web site;

- forbidden proxy: if a player gives up, if possible, he is replaced, otherwise his power is declared in revolt;

- if a player doesn't send the orders (NMR) for two consecutive turns (excluded in winter) the relative power is declared in "revolt";

- after a power has been declared in revolt, every "survivor" player can send orders for the unities in revolt. For every unity it will be performed the "mostly in demand" order. In case of "balance" or if nobody sends orders for one or all the unities, the same one will be considered "Hold";

- the announcements/declaration publi-cation is allowed - both officers and anonymous -;

- CdM publishes a player classification (to be official it must be at least of 2 games).

 The three turns for a year of game certainly lengthen the necessary time to finish a game, but I am sure that joining the winter and autumn turn is an anomalous, wrong, misleading, aleatory and… frustrating procedure.

 Already different Italian players are registered to the inaugural CdM game in English language, but no more than two-three Italian players will participate in the same game.

 Whoever would like to play can send to me an e-mail with his gamee-mail, name and surname (public data) as well as city of residence and nation (not public data)… hoping that the first game will begin in a short time!

 Hi!
